Qnap TL-DS1600S

he QNAP TL-D1600S is a desktop SATA JBOD (Just a Bunch Of Disks) expansion enclosure that allows you to expand storage capacity for a QNAP NAS, Windows, or Ubuntu computer or server. It does not have its own CPU or RAM, as it relies on the host system for processing and configuration.

• 3.5-inch bays: 12 bays compatible with 3.5-inch SATA HDDs or 2.5-inch SATA HDDs/SSDs.
• 2.5-inch bays: 4 bays compatible with 2.5-inch SATA HDDs/SSDs.
• Drive compatibility: Supports SATA 6Gb/s and 3Gb/s drives. Drives are hot-swappable.
• Lockable trays: Lockable hard drive trays are included to prevent accidental drive removal. 

• Host interface: The enclosure connects to a host system via four SFF-8088 ports on the back.
• Expansion card: It comes bundled with a QXP PCIe SATA host card (models vary by manufacture date).
  • Included QXP-1600eS-A1164: Units manufactured after February 2022 include the QXP-1600eS-A1164 PCIe SATA expansion card.
  • Bundled cables: Includes four 1-meter Mini SAS cables (SFF-8644 to SFF-8088) for the connection.
• Throughput: Uses a high-speed, multi-lane SATA 6Gb/s transfer for fast data transfers.
